Access to the World:
Several highways serve Willard. US Highway 160 runs through the heart of Willard and connects with Interstate 44,
six miles southeast. State Highway O runs east from Willard and connects with State Highway 13. State Highway Z
runs north from Willard and State Highway AB runs south and connects with Historic Route 66, six miles south of Willard.
Airport:
The Springfield/Branson Regional Airport is just five miles south of Willard with
air transportation provided by several airlines as well as general aviation services.

Commerce Bank, Citizen’s Home Bank and First National Bank.
Communications:
Telephone service is provided by SBC through a modernized switching system.
MediaCom provides the city with cable television. Daily delivery of the Springfield News-Leader,
as well as weekly delivery of the Cross Country Times is available.
Our Post Office is first class, level 18 and 25 radio stations and 5 television stations serve the area.
Industrial:
An industrial park exists near the Springfield Branson Regional Airport – just 4 miles away.
Community Facilities:
Dining pleasure within the Willard Area is many and varied to include full menu restaurants and
specialty food restaurants. Deli food and fast food is offered at the supermarket and some of
the four area convenience stores. Springfield has approximately 57 hotels/motels with 5,300 rooms just a few minutes away.
Law Enforcement:
The Willard Police Department provides full service policing and public safety 24 hours a day through a
police chief, major, sergeant, corporal, and several other full and part time police officers and support staff.
The department is located on Rocky Lane at US Highway 160 and is dispatched by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office
(417-868-4040). The police department as five cars and three patrol bikes.

The Willard Branch Library, located in the East Shopping Center, offers a variety of materials for check-out: books,
DVD’s, cassettes, videos, CD-ROMs, compact discs, toys, audio books, large print books and other library materials.
When you visit the Library, you can read periodicals, ask questions of trained information professionals and access the
Internet and online databases. You can attend Preschool Story Time and other fun and informative programs for the whole family.
The community will find the branch library a convenient place to register to vote and hold meetings.
Hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sunday.

Willard Fire Protection District:
Twenty-four hour fire protection and emergency medical and rescue service is provided by a 45-member volunteer fire
department with a paid Fire Chief and two Assistant Fire Chiefs. Emergency calls are pager dispatched by the Greene
County Sheriff’s Department and E-911.
An Advanced Life Support Service licensed by the Department of Health of the State of Missouri provides emergency
Medical and Rescue. The fire department is equipped with two manual defibrillators used by Paramedics and RN’s,
as well as four automatic external defibrillators, used by EMT’s and First Responders.
The fire department is supported by a personal and real property tax levy paid by the residents of the fire district,
which covers about 70 square miles. The ISO Protection Class Rating for the Willard Fire District is a Class 6. The
fire protection district is governed by a board of five directors who meet at Station #1, the district’s headquarters,
at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.
Station #1 is the main fire station located at Highways 160 and AB within the city of Willard. Station #2
is a sub-station located near Schyler, east of the city. Station #3 is in the Meadows subdivision near the
intersection of Highway EE and AB, south of the city.

Hours of operation: Wednesday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Following is a list of recyclable material accepted at the recycling center.
Materials must be sorted into one of the six categories listed.
- Aluminum Cans – Empty, preferably crushed or flattened.
- Tin Cans and Lids – Up to one gallon. Rinse food cans, labels do not have to be removed.
- Glass Bottles and Jugs (Brown, green and clear only) – Does not have to be sorted by color
and labels do not have to be removed. Must be empty, rinsed and lids removed. No window or automobile glass, drinking glasses,
crystal, glass cookware, or any ceramics such as Pyrex. No blue, smoke, or gray colored bottles.
- Plastic – Plastic containers up to one gallon that have a ‘1’, ‘2’, or ‘3’
on or near the bottom. Examples include: Milk jugs, Plastic fruit juice bottles,
Soda and water bottles, Liquid laundry detergent containers, Liquid dishwashing
detergent containers, Bleach bottles and jugs, Mouthwash containers, Liquid fabric
softener containers, Shampoo and hair conditioner, Windshield solvent bottles, Anti-freeze containers.
- Paper – Most paper products accepted. All paper is placed in one container at the recycling center
and does not have to be sorted. Examples include: Newspaper, Typing paper, Telephone books, Scratch pads,
Magazines, Envelopes, Bond paper, Colored paper, Calculator tape, Construction paper, Computer paper,
Carbonless (NCR) paper, Letterhead/stationary, Non metallic gift wrap, Photocopy paper, Greeting cards.
The recycling center also accepts pasteboard. This is non corrugated cardboard such as cereal boxes,
macaroni and cheese boxes, paper egg carton, etc.
Remove any plastic or wax paper liner, flatten and place in paper bin at recycling center.
- Corrugated Cardboard – Flatten boxes, tape and staples do not have to be removed.
- No liquids, chemicals, tires, explosives, or any hazardous waste accepted.
